Train STA updated for the new iPad’s fantastic Retina Display

We are delighted to announce that version 1.1 of the iPad app for the Swimming Teachers’ Association is now available to download for free on the iTunes App Store.

We have updated the app to take advantage of the fantastic Retina Display found on the new iPad (3rd generation). We have taken care to update all of the graphics and the Certificate viewer to make use of all of the extra pixels available on the screen.

While we were at it, we also fixed the AirPrint functionality so that you can easily print your awarded certificates on any AirPrint-compatible printer.

Train STA enables you to log in to your STA account and access your purchased training programmes. You can view the latest STA news, read the programme course texts and take the assessments within the app. When you have successfully completed an assessment, you can view, print or send your awarded certificates.

Please visit the Swimming Teachers’ Association website to learn more about the Association and this superb app for registered members.

The app supports iPad, iPad 2 and iPad (3rd generation) devices running iOS 4.2 and later.

The iPad app was developed by Roy Goode using C#, Xamarin MonoTouch and the iOS 5.1 SDK, based on a design by Theo Millward of STA Resolute Technology and Mike Hince of Sans Deputy Creative. The JSON web services which the app relies upon for data synchronisation with the STA server were designed in collaboration and were developed by Daryl Tomkins of Outreach Office Ltd.
